Lodging Tax Bill Heading To Senate

A bill that would allow New Castle County to impose a lodging tax is heading to the Senate.  The measure passed the House this week.  The legislation would allow counties with more than 500-thousand people to tax hotel, motel and traditional bed and breakfast stays by up to three percent in unincorporated areas.  A House committee is considering a separate bill that would allow municipalities to impose their own three percent tax.
