Workforce Training Program Under Investigation

A workforce training program that received hundreds-of-thousands in state funding is under investigation after allegations that participants were used as free labor.  The claims are against the Interfaith Community Housing's HomeWorks program.  The 16 week program for ex-offenders is meant to provide classroom and on-the-job training.  Former trainees told lawmakers at a State Senate Labor Committee hearing yesterday they often went uncompensated for hours of hard labor.
