Governor John Carney is joining leaders from five other northeastern states and Puerto Rico in a gun violence research consortium. The governors will work with top researchers to collect and analyze data on gun violence. Carney said in a statement that better information will help enforce laws already on the books, intercept the flow of illegal weapons across state borders, and take additional action. Other states involved are New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
