The Delaware Department of Correction is hoping a new incentive program will help fill job vacancies throughout the state. The program launched this week is offering officers joining the agency a three-thousand-dollar hiring incentive. Employees who refer candidates are also being offered a one-thousand-dollar bonus. The annual starting salary will also be increasing in July, to 43-thousand. DOC officials are hoping the incentives will increase applications and ultimately reduce the vacancy rate.
