(Milford, DE) -- Some Milford Memorial Hospital staff members are recovering from a fire that forced them to evacuate parts of the facility. Bayhealth says the fire started around 5:30 a.m. Saturday forcing patients and staff to evacuate Milford Memorial’s Intermediate Care, Medical-Surgical and Obstetric units. Several hospital employees suffered smoke inhalation as a result of the small fire in a heating-cooling unit. An employee used a fire extinguisher to douse the flames.
