Speaking on ‘America Now’ last week, host Buck Sexton praised the GOP-controlled Congress for “finally” passing significant legislation; saying they eventually “got something done” in overhauling the nation’s overly complicated and outdated tax code.
“There you go, you have taxes. You have taxes, it’s going to be better for the economy than what we have right now. It’s going to be better for the economy than the current tax regime,” said Buck. “And it looks like I can’t keep making fun of Republicans for not getting anything done. It looks like there will be something for them to celebrate going into the new year.”
“Lot of taxes going down, it’s a big tax cut. Trump said that it was going to be a Christmas Present for America. It looks like that’s going to happen,” he added.
“This could be great. The economy’s already doing very well. The economy is strong right now, and I think this will make it stronger,” Sexton said. “The only people that get a rough end of the deal are people that live in high-tax states who lose the ability to fully deduct state and local tax.”
“But a lot of folks are going to be getting less in terms of taxation. There you go, alright Republicans. You got some stuff, you managed to get something done, and I have to stop making fun of the Congress,” he added.
