Nancy Pelosi Calls for DREAM Act to Be Passed – This Surprising Group Shuts Her Down

What happened?

A group of young undocumented immigrants shouted down House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi at a news conference Monday in San Francisco. She was advocating for the DREAM Act, legislation that would protect illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children, to be passed into law immediately.

Pelosi tried to respond to the crowd but eventually had to give up and leave. She had started her speech by calling the “DREAMers,” a term used for illegal immigrants brought here as children, “an inspiration to all of us.”

What did they want?

A local CBS outlet reported a list of their demands:

  • “We undocumented youth demand a clean bill.”
  • “We undocumented youth demand that you do not sell out our community and our values.”
  • “We undocumented youth will not be a bargaining chip for Trump.”

Glenn’s take:

“If you live by lawlessness, you are going to die by it,” Glenn said, explaining how Democrats have tried to push the boundaries of the law, and their unlawful decisions are now backfiring on them. The undocumented immigrant protesters were using the same tactics that other liberal causes have employed, shouting down Pelosi before she could even speak.

“She looked helpless,” he said of Pelosi at the press conference.
